Refunds

Non-Refundable Fees

All rentals, programs, and activities are subject to a non-refundable administrative fee.

 

Activity Registrations

General Programs

(Adaptive programs, Adult Sports programs, Youth Sports programs and leagues, tennis clinics/tournaments and leagues, Park Ranger programs, Special Interest classes, camps, field trips, and community outings).

A transfer or refund (minus the non-refundable fee) will be provided up to seven days before the start of the activity. All refunds of instructor fees must be negotiated between the participant and the instructor.

Adult Sports Teams & Leagues

  • Softball Teams/Leagues: A transfer or refund (minus a $100 non-refundable fee) will be provided up to seven days before the activity begins.
  • Volleyball Teams/Leagues: transfer or refund (minus a $50 non-refundable fee) will be provided up to seven days before the activity begins
  • No changes are allowed within seven days of the activity’s start date.
  • This policy also applies to teams who are removed from the league for registering in a lower or higher division than approved.

Aquatics Programs

  • Swim lessons, water aerobics, lifeguard training, WSI Certification, and FlowRider league: a transfer or refund (minus non-refundable fee) will be provided up to seven days before the start of the activity. Once the activity has begun, all fees are non-refundable.
  • Swim teams: a transfer into a different aquatics program will be provided up to 5 days after the start of the activity.
  • Aquatics passes, lap swim, season packages, Dive-In Movies, and special events are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations by the City of Mesa: When Swim Lessons and Water Aerobics are canceled by the City, there will be a prorated refund after three missed classes.

Court Reservations (Pickleball, Sand Volleyball, Tennis)

  • Court Reservations are non-refundable. Any changes to court rental permits must be made at least one business day before the rental start time.
  • Court Tournament Rentals: Changes to rental permit dates/times may be subject to a change fee of $25.00 per change. In the event of cancellation, refunds are given according to the following schedule:

Pool Reservations/Pool Classrooms and Party Rooms

Pool Reservations

Attendance modification requests must be made 14 days prior to the event date to ensure staffing requirements can be met. Pool rental cancellations requested up to 14 days before the reservation date will receive a refund minus a $50.00 non-refundable fee. No refunds will be provided within 14 days of the reservation date.

Rhodes Party Room and Swimming Pool Classroom

Reservations canceled less than 14 days before the event are non-refundable. All refunds are subject to a $25 non-refundable fee. 

Ramada and Pavilion Reservations & Open Space Permits

  • Ramada reservations, and open space permits are non-refundable, except when hindered by severe weather (hazardous conditions produced by thunderstorms, damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail, and flooding. Please note: Temperatures that are above average are not considered severe weather conditions). In the event of severe weather, permit holders may request a date change before the start of the event.  
  • Event modifications may be requested up to the final Thursday before the reservation date. Modifications may include:
    • Date change (new date must fall within 12 months of the original permit date)
    • Location change (Moving to a larger ramada will result in an increased price)
    • Adding special permits to a reservation (e.g., beer and wine permit, equipment permit, etc.)
    • Additional hours may be added, but no refunds will be issued for any reduction in the reserved time.

Recreation Center Facility Reservations

At the time of booking, a 50% down payment is required. All fees must be paid 14 days prior to the event. Full payment is required at the time of reservation if the event is booked within 14 days. In the case of a cancellation, refunds are given according to the following schedule:

Public Field and Sports Complex Reservations

Deposits must be paid within 72 hours of receiving permit unless balance is paid in full at the time of reservation. Sports complex rental deposits are non-refundable. Sport complex rental deposits will equate to $150.00 per complex, per day. Changes to rental permit dates/times will be subject to a change fee of $25.00 per change. Rental fees, staffing fees, and facility preparation fees will be refunded according to the following schedule:

• Sports Complex Rental - Refund minus deposit, and a $25 non-refundable fee

• Public Field Rental – Refund minus a $10 non-refundable fee

Less than 14 days prior to event No refund

It is the responsibility of the Client to determine accurately the number of fields and timeframe of usage. Unused fields or games/practices ending early will not be refunded. Venue playability is at the sole discretion of the City. The City of Mesa reserves the right to close the venue or cancel reservations due to safety or weather issues. Venue closures due to safety and weather issues will be transferred to a new date, or a refund will be provided (minus any non-refundable fees).
