Hawes Loop Trail

3055 N Power Rd

Mesa maintains a small section of the Hawes Loop Trail that totals 4845 feet (~0.92 miles).

Trail Features:

  • Hours: Sunrise to Sunset 
  • Access through the Las Sendas Subdivision

The closest parking to this section of the trail is to park at the Park and Ride at 3055 N Power Rd and walk/bike to the entrance (about 3 miles).

Mountain Vista Trail

 3932 N Recker Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215

Trail Features:

  • Hours: Sunrise to Sunset
  • One (1)-mile trail that is 10 feet wide with two (2) lookout points
  • 1/8-mile trail: ADA concrete sidewalk loop with botanical garden in the middle
  • Small parking lot (6 spaces)

A mix of additional trails can be found at the following parks:

1.  Activity Trails

  • Desert Arroyo Park: 1/2 mile paved Discovery Loop
  • Eagles Park: Born Learning preschool activity trail
  • Park of the Canals: Desert botanical garden area

2.  Bike Trails

  • Desert Arroyo Park: 3/4 mile explorers path look for hiking and biking
  • Desert Trails Park: Two (2) pump tracks and six (6) bike trails - hiking allowed on three (3)

3. Other Trails

  • Eagles Park: Paved walking loop around the park
  • Fiesta Sports Park: Large dirt walking/running track
  • Red Mountain Park: Paved sidewalks around and bisecting the park
  • Riverview Park: Paved sidewalks around and bisecting the park
  • Skyline Park: Dirt path around the park for walking/running

     

Trail Etiquette

Please respect the rights of others by following park rules.
Non-aggressive dogs are allowed in City of Mesa parks when controlled on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up dog waste.

  • Do not use the park for organized groups, classes, or teams without a permit.
  • Do not camp or store personal belongings.
  • Do not deface or tamper with natural resources including park or private property.
  • Do not possess or consume spirituous liquor (beer or wine consumption is allowed only with an approved ramada reservation through an additional permit).
  • Do not smoke in picnic areas, seating areas, and sports complexes.
  • Do not advertise, solicit, distribute, or sell goods or services.
  • Do not drive motorized vehicles outside of approved areas.
