Intern with Mesa PD

The Mesa Police Department offers college students the opportunity to be exposed to various areas of the Department and work with highly trained police officers, detectives and professional staff. Interns will receive hands-on training and exposure in areas such as Criminal Investigations, Forensics, Technology, Communications, Community Outreach, and so much more. An internship at the Mesa Police Department will be both rewarding and educational, allowing students to be part of the day-to-day operations of Mesa PD and opening the door to a future career in law enforcement.

Requirements

The internship selection process is competitive due to the limited number of positions available. Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be enrolled in a college or technical school.
  • Have a valid driver’s license or identification.
  • For FORENSICS: Must be a Junior or Senior.
  • If Credit-based Internship, must provide school approval document(s).
  • Complete Better Impact application.
  • Submit resume and unofficial transcripts via email to PDVIPS@mesaaz.gov.
  • Interview with unit/area supervisors (if applicable).
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check.
