Violent Crime Initiative

The Violent Crime Initiative (VCI) is a citywide effort led by the Mesa Police Department in partnership with the City of Mesa to reduce violent crime across all police districts. Using crime data and community-focused strategies, the initiative targets areas and individuals most impacted by violent crime through coordinated patrols, special operations, and ongoing analysis. By emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and consistent review of crime trends, the VCI supports safer neighborhoods and a proactive approach to preventing violent crime throughout Mesa.

CompStat

CompStat is a data-driven process used by the Police Department to monitor crime trends, measure performance, and improve community safety. On a monthly basis, crime and activity data are reviewed to identify patterns, evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies, and guide timely adjustments.
