The Mesa Police Department is a proud and authorized partner of the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, also known as the Career Skills Program (CSP). The Department offers active military service members within the last 180 days of service to be a part of day-to-day operations within the Mesa Police Department.

The program allows service members to be exposed to various areas of the Department and to work with highly trained police officers and professional staff. SkillBridge interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain exposure working with one of our many Detectives and Police Investigators. Assist in follow-up of cases concerning crimes against persons/property.
  • Work with the community of Mesa. Mesa Police Department partners very closely with the communities of Mesa. The Department hosts several events and community programs throughout the year.
  • Experience the workday of a police officer by participating in a patrol ride-along with each district.
  • Participate in the Community Engagement Academy. Learn about the different areas and units within the Department through this one-day event. Areas such as Swat, Aviation, Bike Unit, and more will present on their perspective duties and functions.

The goal of Mesa Police Department’s SkillBridge program is to provide military members an opportunity to discover a career in law enforcement and to provide a pathway to becoming a part of the Mesa Police Department.
