Embracing Your Inner Trickster: All-Ages Zine-Making Workshop

America 250 logo

Award-winning Two Spirit storyteller Taté Walker will lead participants on a zine-making journey through the history and heritage of Indigenous trickers and the lessons they teach. Zine, pronounced "zeen" and short for "magazine," is a small, handmade paper booklet meant to convey a message. In this generative workshop, participants will build confidence and skills through observation by harnessing sensory details to enhance and express experiences. Indigenous trickster tales offer unlimited depths into language and visuals, which participants will use as inspiration in exercises of prose, poetry, and illustration to develop new ways to express their own identities.
