As part of America 250, Mesa Public Library invites readers to discuss "The Woman's Hour" by Elaine Weiss. The book examines the final push for ratification of the 19th Amendment in August 1920, when Tennessee became the deciding state in granting women the right to vote.

The story highlights the suffragists, their opponents and the intense political and social tensions surrounding the fight for women’s voting rights. Through the experiences of several key figures, the book explores a pivotal moment in American history and the broader movement for civil rights.

Participants are encouraged to read the book before attending.
