Municipal Security

The Mesa Municipal Security Team is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment at Mesa Municipal Court and Mesa City Hall. Municipal Security Officers (MSOs) respond to security incidents and alarms, assess situations, and resolve issues efficiently. They utilize state-of-the-art technology, including advanced X-ray machines, magnetometers, and EVOLV screening systems, to detect and prevent weapons from entering the facilities, ensuring the safety of all occupants. Their duties include staffing the visitor registration desk to prevent unauthorized access, answering routine inquiries, logging entries, directing visitors, escorting personnel after hours, and conducting thorough security checks of facilities.

MSOs address violations through verbal warnings, removing disruptive individuals, and detaining serious offenders until law enforcement arrives. The team receives comprehensive training, including on-the-job instruction and formal education through programs like the Administrative Office of the Courts—Court Security Guard Academy, ensuring adherence to standardized procedures and policies.
