Who We Are

The Office of Data & Performance turns city data into clear insights that improve services for Mesa residents. We equip employees with practical tools and training to streamline work and measure what matters, so services are delivered more efficiently. By openly analyzing and sharing data, we help leaders, staff, and neighbors make confident, evidence-based decisions - building a city that works for everyone.

How We Use Data

  • Combine operational data from every City service with external sources—such as U.S. Census figures, regional GIS layers, and partner-agency records—to spot trends and guide solutions.
  • Publish timely, high-quality datasets, dashboards, and interactive maps on our Open Data Portal, promoting transparency and civic engagement.
  • Translate analysis into plain-language stories that link data to the City Council’s Strategic Priorities and measurable performance goals.
